Steve Walas
CEO
Steve has been employed with HealthSouth for more than 10 years in a variety of inpatient rehabilitation settings and brings this experience to the job of CEO of HealthSouth Chesapeake Rehabilitation Hospital. Steve has a degree in health policy and administration from the Pennsylvania State University.

Gunnar W. Zorn, III,
Medical Director
Dr. Zorn graduated from Duke University and Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He completed his internship at the Medial Center of Delaware in Newark and his residency at Jefferson University Hospital. Dr. Zorn specializes in comprehensive generalized rehabilitation, musculoskeletal disorders, electrodiagnostic medicine and independent medical examinations. He has been a part of the HealthSouth Chesapeake Rehabilitation hospital team for more than 15 years.

Stephanie Gamm
Chief Nursing Officer

Stephanie is a native of York, Pa. She has been in nursing for more than 28 years and began her career as a nursing assistant, completed LPN training at York County School of Technology and received her bachelor's degree in nursing from York College of Pennsylvania. Stephanie is a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse who is currently pursuing her master's degree in nursing. She lives in Ocean Pines, Md. with her family.


Ellen Siegmund
Director Of Therapy Operations
Ellen Siegmund is a licensed and certified Occupational Therapist, having completed her Occupational Therapy degree at Towson State University in Maryland. Additionally Ellen has earned a master's degree in Health Care Management from California State University Los Angeles. She has held the position of Rehab Director at several facilities, including the City of Hope National Medical and Research Center in California. Ellen has been in the role of Director of Therapy Operations for HealthSouth Chesapeake since November 2010. Most recently Ellen has been a primary grant writer and program administrator for MAC Inc. here in Salisbury. She has been involved in administration, leadership, teaching and a variety of specialty clinical rehabilitation areas for many years.

Greg Hartman
DMO

Greg is an Eastern Shore native who earned a bachelor’s degree in Social work from the University of Maryland and has credit towards a master’s degree in psychology from Salisbury University (Md.). Prior to joining HealthSouth Chesapeake Rehabilitation Hospital, Greg served as a Regional Marketing director for Xavier Healthcare Services and as a director of social work/admissions for a Salisbury skilled nursing facility. Most recently, he worked with Vitas Hospice in Miami, Fla. as a territory manager. Greg has a strong passion for educating doctors, patients and others on the benefits and advantages of acute rehabilitation.


Karen Rounsley
Controller
Karen has been the controller at HealthSouth Chesapeake Rehabilitation Hospital for nearly 10 years and employed at the hospital for nearly 20 years. Karen brings more than 20 years of accounting and financial management experience to her position. She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting from Salisbury University. She has been a resident of the Eastern Shore of Maryland for more than 30 years.

Belinda Thompson
Director of Human Resources
Belinda has been the director of human resources at HealthSouth Chesapeake Rehabilitation Hospital since 2000. She has worked with the management staff to decrease turnover, promote an equal opportunity for employee advancement while working to recruit candidates who share in the HealthSouth work ethic. A native of the Eastern Shore, Belinda can provide particularized information to professionals considering relocation to the Chesapeake Bay area. Belinda has a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a concentration in gerontology and a certification in personnel management.
